Cookie Policy

Last updated: 2026-04-29 Effective date: 2026-04-29

This Cookie Policy explains how Portifoliqa L.L.C ("we," "us," "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on PortfoliQa (the "Service"). It supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site's owners.

We also use similar technologies — such as localStorage, sessionStorage, pixels, and SDKs — that perform comparable functions. For simplicity, this Policy uses the term "cookies" to refer to all of these.

2. Categories of cookies we use

We classify cookies into the following categories. You can manage your choices for non-essential categories at any time via the cookie preferences control at the bottom of any page on the Service.

CategoryRequired?Purpose
Strictly necessaryAlways onAuthentication, security, fraud prevention, load balancing, remembering preferences you explicitly set (e.g. theme). The Service cannot function without these.
FunctionalOptionalRemember your non-essential preferences and provide enhanced features.
AnalyticsOptional (consent)Help us understand how users interact with the Service so we can improve it (Google Analytics).
Marketing / AdvertisingOptional (consent)We do not currently use marketing or advertising cookies. If we add them in the future, we will update this Policy and request your consent before setting them.

3. Specific cookies and similar technologies

The list below describes the cookies and similar storage we use. Names and durations are best-effort and may change as we update our infrastructure.

We instruct Google Analytics to anonymize/truncate IP addresses and we do not enable Google Signals or ad-personalization features. Google Analytics data may still be transferred to and processed in the United States; see the Google Analytics privacy notice.

Functional

We do not currently set additional functional cookies beyond what is listed above.

Marketing / Advertising

We do not currently use marketing or advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or third-party advertising trackers (e.g. Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Google Ads conversion tracking).

4. How we obtain and manage consent

For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Brazil, and where required for users in other jurisdictions, we display a cookie banner the first time you visit the Service. The banner allows you to:

  • Accept all non-essential cookies;
  • Reject all non-essential cookies (only strictly-necessary cookies are then set);
  • Customize your choices by category.

Your choices are stored in localStorage (the cookie-consent entry described above) and remembered across sessions on the same browser. You can change your choices at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of any page.

We do not treat continued browsing or scrolling as consent. Non-essential cookies are not set unless you actively accept them.

5. Browser controls

Most browsers let you manage cookies through their settings — for example, to block third-party cookies, delete existing cookies, or be notified when a cookie is set. Disabling strictly-necessary cookies will impair the Service's functionality (you may not be able to sign in, for example).

Helpful resources:

You can also opt out of Google Analytics specifically by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

6. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We currently do not respond to "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals because there is no industry consensus on how DNT should be interpreted. We do, however, honor recognized Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where required by applicable law (e.g. for California users under CCPA/CPRA): a GPC signal will be treated as an opt-out request for any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not currently sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising — see Privacy Policy §10.3.

7. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, law, or our practices. When we update the Policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be notified through the Service or by email.
